Counselling this morning wasn't too bad, apparently I've made quite good progress with trying to keep positive, which is good. Sadly I don't feel too positive a lot of the time, but that's being worked on. I didn't get much sleep last night, what with the heat and the car alarm that went off at about 2am.
There was also the idea for a story which crept into my head keeping me awake. Now, I've not written anything for years now, so having the idea of characters, a plot, setting, etc was quite a surprise. I jotted it all down on the iPad and started to type it up this morning. I don't know if it'll be any good (Myriam always whinges about my writing and in the end I feel like giving up) but I might as well try!
When I got home from the hospital I felt like having something different for lunch, so I ordered from Dominos. Originally, some chicken strippers, a "breakfast" sub (bacon, sausage, mushroom and brown sauce) and belgian waffles ordered online. The second I placed the order I got a phone call from the store saying how they didn't get any ingredients for the subs today and offered me a small pizza for no extra cost. I asked for a simple pepperoni pizza instead of the sub. When it all arrived, the pizza box label read "Sub order". Funny looking sub, but it was tasty all the same. The waffles were excellent and the chicken strippers really hit the spot.
This afternoon, I'm watching Book of Eli and I'll get what I can of this story written up, hopefully the first chapter or two. As I already have the idea for the first 5 chapters, I think I can get quite a way into the story before I show it to anyone (and before they have the chance to moan and make me rewrite the whole thing like what happened last time).
I still have about half of this pizza left, it's eyeing me and I want to eat it, but for the time being I'll leave it. I quite enjoy cold pizza and it might be nice to eat while watching Cloverfield on Channel 4 later.
